Top 10 Lowest Team Totals In LPL History (Updated 2026)

July 10, 2026

Author: Kavin Fernando

The Lanka Premier League (LPL) has witnessed plenty of high-scoring matches since its inaugural season in 2020, but there have also been games where batting line-ups failed to put up competitive totals.

Disciplined bowling, difficult batting conditions, and regular wickets have resulted in several memorable collapses over the years. As of the end of the 2024 season, Dambulla’s 69 against Jaffna Kings in 2021 remains the lowest team total in the tournament’s history.

In this article, we rank the ten lowest team totals recorded in LPL history.

Top 10 Lowest Team Totals in LPL

Although the LPL is known for aggressive batting, several matches have been dominated by bowlers. The table below lists the ten lowest completed team totals in the tournament’s history.

Lowest Team Totals by Season

The distribution of low-scoring innings across LPL editions reveals patterns in match conditions and bowling excellence. The 2023 season produced multiple sub-90 totals, suggesting particularly difficult batting conditions or sustained bowling pressure during that tournament phase.

Notable low-scoring seasons and their circumstances provide context for understanding the factors contributing to team collapses.

Conclusion: Dambulla Recorded the Lowest Score in LPL History

Dambulla continues to hold the unwanted record for the lowest score in LPL history after being dismissed for 69 against Jaffna Kings during the 2021 season. No other team has been bowled out for fewer than 70 runs in the tournament so far.

Colombo, Jaffna Kings, Dambulla Aura and Kandy Falcons also feature among the lowest team totals after struggling against disciplined bowling attacks. Their collapses remain some of the most one-sided batting performances seen in the competition.

As the Lanka Premier League continues to grow, teams have become stronger, and batting standards have improved. Even so, these low totals remain a reminder of how quickly a T20 innings can unravel when wickets fall regularly and partnerships fail to develop.
